I would be looking at a flat stage in one minute, and the next be transported into a basement with ramps and stairs leading down to a small boat floating on a stream, it was incredible! The stage also had more holes and trap doors that I had ever imagined. The set design for this production was amazing, you feel as if you are actually in that Paris Opera house, or in the Phantoms secret lair. The proscenium stage was beautifully decorated with huge golden angels, gorgeous backdrops, mirrors, candles, a huge pipe organ and an elephant at the opening of the play that would have you guessing how it was constructed.
The scenery and effects will amaze and entertain you, but the music will hypnotize you. I rarely have any interest in music when I view a play, I either love it or hate it, but some musical pieces filled the theater with such emotion that I could not help tapping my feet.
